Two Hughes Landing will be an eight-story building with 197,000 square feet on the east shore of Lake Woodlands. Construction will begin in June with completion planned in 2014.
The property will be the second of up to 11 buildings planned in the Hughes Landing on Lake Woodlands mixed-use development. It is bordered by Grogan’s Mill Road, Lake Woodlands Drive and Lake Front Circle.
The first building, One Hughes Landing, will be completed in September. Also eight stories, the building contains 197,000 square feet. Tenants are Layne Christensen Co., PetroQuest Energy, Summit Midstream, Wells Fargo Bank and Post Oak Bank.
Construction is just finishing up on 3 Waterway Square, an 11-story building with 231,589 square feet in the Waterway Square District. The building is at Lake Robbins Drive and Woodloch Forest Drive. Tenants are beginning to occupy the space this month. Waste Connections, Nexeo Solutions, Energy Alloys and Kona Grill have signed up for space.
The market for top spaces in The Woodlands reached 100 percent occupancy in the first quarter, according to CBRE. The last time it was completely occupied was 1997, although it came close in 2006.
Robert S. Parsley and Norman V. Munoz of Colliers International are handling leasing of the new building.
The Woodlands Development Co. is a subsidiary of The Howard Hughes Corp.
